In eighty years of activity the SAT Choir has constantly renewed as well as strengthened itself by gradually welcoming new pupils. In particular, in the period that goes from 1988 to the present day, this renewal has become so important as to involve nearly half of the present choristers. Each pupil goes through a long personal learning time before being taken in the actual training, and this in order to maintain the original tone – colour of the voices.

This year, the Choir has decided to celebrate its 80 th anniversary in two different ways. On one hand with a series of prestigious concerts both in Italy and abroad, on the other with the creation of its own school. Its aim is to pass on to all those concerned the musical and human values which, since 1926, have been the basis of its artistic activity, as well as to guarantee its own future through a specific training of new choristers.

Since last May, an increasing number of pupils has gathered each week in Trento (Via Manci, 57) in order to slowly get in touch with the huge repertory which is one of the strong points of the SAT Choir. In this way they can approach that peculiar way of singing thanks to which the choir has become an international artistic phenomenon.

Besides, the Choir can be an ideal “test-bench” for all those who want to become choir conductors, since it offers both technical and artistic help.

At present there are more than thirty pupils coming from all areas in Trentino, but also from Milan and Longarone. The awareness of becoming some sort of future life-blood for the carrying on of the choir activity, well beyond its eighty-year-old-life, is something which prompts them as much as their genuine passion for singing.
